BMC RACE filter range Keeping the same shape as the OEM version, with BMC Race filters the increased airflow typical of BMC products is taken to a more extreme level. By reducing the cotton layers from 4 to 3, the air delivery is even higher. For this reason, BMC Race filters are only recommended for sports use on the racetrack, as the increased air flow can lead to poor carburation (more air than necessary) or injection (the control unit is unable to control the stoichiometric mixture correctly). To avoid this problem, it is necessary to reprogram the control unit, which results in a marked increase in performance. For easy identification, BMC Race filters have the word "Race" written at the end of the product code and a yellow line on the filter element. Why choose a BMC air filter? 1. General information The panel / cylindrical air filter is commonly referred to as "replacement air filter". It is installed in the vehicle's original airbox to replace the OEM air filter.
